Disney's The Finest HourOur motor lifeboat legacy has been linked to the film, The Finest Hours. It is the story of the perilous, Motor Lifeboat CG-36500 rescue mission of the SS Pendleton off the coast of Chatham, MA. On Feb. 18, 1952, a massive storm splits the SS Pendleton in two, trapping more than 30 sailors inside the tanker's sinking stern.
